Hi there, I’m Lindsey Rockey. I’m a former accountant spending nearly 25yrs of my life in the accounting/finance sector. I left the industry to pursue my passion in clinical mental health, so I’m in grad school full time and now a full time author as well. I live in Milwaukee with my wife and two rescue pups I adore. I identify as neurodiverse, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQIA+. I’m also a cancer survivor and that has probably left the biggest impression on my life and changed my life completely.
Most of my writing isn’t fancy. I don’t put on airs. I don’t weave words in swift poetry that makes your insides tingle with delight. I write how I talk and how I feel. Sometimes I’ll weave some of my ideals and passions into my books – two of my FMC’s were psych students as I longed to be myself (before I hit my midlife crisis – haha!). I do dialogue tags differently. I might use different language than other authors. But that’s what makes my voice unique – the goal isn’t to sound like someone else or hit some “market trend” to make sales. I am simply me. And if that brings you some joy then I’m grateful.
